Paul Anka,
singer song-writer
Paul Anka was born in Ottowa, Canada in 1941 to Lebanese parents. Anka
was unique among late fifties teen idols in that he was also a successful
songwriter. Among his many hits are Puppy Love recorded by Donny Osmond,
. He also wrote the lyrics for My Way (Frank Sinatra) and She's a Lady
(Tom Jones). To date, he has amassed worldwide record sales in excess
of a hundred million copies. He returned to Lebanon for sell-out performances
at the Forum de Beyrouth in 1999 where this famous son was received with
typical Lebanese hospitality he even invited the then First Lady
Mona Hrawi to join him in a dance off-stage.
