Abdel Rahman's Defense:

This is indeed glorifying to god from the limited understanding that Jesus is the son of god. Islam educates a clear distinction between what is godly and what is human. It rejects any association, link, or imagery that could limit our understanding of god or deviate us from worshiping the creator into worshiping the creations. Jesus was a creation of flesh and blood like any of us, but he was the miracle of god chosen to be a prophet born to no father, but only a mother…we all know so with disagreements about Jesus godliness. Why do you have to put it in a “father/son” figure necessarily? You don’t believe that god is powerful enough to make something out of nothing? And if you do believe in the endless power of god, then why does it have to be narrowed to a father/son definition? Why can’t it be more general as in creator/creation for example? Human made cars from scratch, does that mean that we are the fathers of our Hondas and Ferraris? Is your car a son or daughter to you? Where is its cousin? What about its grandfather and aunt? I hope you get my point, labeling restricts the understanding and damages the true concept of the singleness of god…no wonder you have the trinity which is nowhere mentioned in the bible!

After all, you might see this as offensive because it’s the complete opposite of what you believe. But then again, two points are to be made:

1- The “immaculate” concepts of Mary and her son Jesus (PBUT) being holy is a self proclaimed Christian fabrication and there are lots of pointers in the Bible that contradicts it. Arguments about this have dwelled but most support the Islamic view of Jesus and not the Christian one. I am loaded with proofs from the bible, and at your sign, I am very prepared to tackle this topic.

2- Islam grants tremendous respect to Mary (PBUH)which I leave for you to reflect on and evaluate the reverential spots she was given even before the birth of Jesus (PBUH)

Behold! The angels said: "o Mary! God hath chosen thee and purified thee- chosen thee above the women of all nations."

Quran 3:42

"Chosen thee above the women of all nations." such an honor is not to be found given to Mary even in the Christian bible!
