Title: "Seagull Take Off"

Comments (by Rami E. Cremesti)

A seagull I photographed right after take-off at Point Dume beach on December 17, 2002. It was a stormy day, the swell was huge, occasional squalls hit and it rained hard.

On stormy days, seagulls are awe-inspirng. To me they seem like they embody the souls of lost sailors trapped in speechless birds.

In stormy weather some people hate to go out. To them I say that when I was in the water that December 17, 2002, surfing, big waves rolling beneath me, and at the same time the sun shone from the West while a drizzle rained on me from a cloud right above and a wind blew hard from the South-West... it was pure Sacred Awe ! I experienced Water, Wind and Fire at the same time! Nature is so vibrant during a storm... and the Earth is happy as it quenches its thirst...

On the way back home that day, the sun came up, the storm was dissipating, and the sun shone like gold and nature gleamed pure and refreshed...

Ricoh camera, 90-230mm Sears zoom lens, Fuji Superia 800 film, shutter speed 1000.
